What Does Tattoo Blowout Mean?

In case the tattoo artist does not use the needle properly, the ink pierces deep into the skin unnecessarily. As the pressure applied is continuous, it breaks into the inner lining of the skin. Consequently, the skin gets a blemish if the tattoo maker spreads the ink deeply. However, it is not accurate to blame the tattoo artist always for such things. It may be due to many reasons.

Why Tattoo Blowout Happens?

Many parts of the skin are sensitive and prone to splurge especially parts like wrist, feet, ankle, toes, and fingers. Another common reason could be due to the negligence or mishandling of the needle by the tattoo maker. Moreover, a tattoo artist should be well- aware of the type of skin of the person before making the tattoo. It is because somebody has thin skin while others have thick and hard skin.

However, tattoo blowout may also occur due to the difference in the application of the pressure on the skin. Sometimes, tattoo blowout also happens due to the wrong angle chosen by the tattoo artist. It is often to have a tattoo blowout if the needle touches the joint like inside the elbow or maybe at the backside of the knee.

How To Avoid Tattoo Blowouts?

If you are planning to have a tattoo on your body but scared of the tattoo blowout then read this information to avoid any hindrance. However, it can be prevented if you follow these things:

  • Do not choose the areas of the skin that are thin as mentioned above.
  • Never twist or stretch your skin after the tattoo has been made on your body, otherwise, the ink will get diffuse into the other layers.
  • Always, choose an experienced tattoo artist who can do all this flawlessly.

The areas that have extremely thin skin are most prone to tattoo blowout. This happens because the skin in these areas is too delicate. These areas mainly include toes, wrist, elbows, fingers, ankles and the top part of the feet and hands.

However, it is very unusual to have blowouts on the areas like surrounded by the elbow or at the back of the knee. Therefore, if you are planning to get a tattoo on your body avoids these areas for sure.

Can Tattoo Blowouts Go Away?

It is a very frequently asked question whether a tattoo blowout could go away, but unluckily the answer is the same that is no. A blowout can never go away even if you try different things to remove it. But the tattoo artist can do several things to alter it or fix it.

How To Preset A Blowout?

It is not as simple to fix a tattoo blowout as it looks. It will be useless to apply any lotion or a moisturizer on it, as they will not help you. To fix the blowout takes a lot of time. You need to wait for some time before getting the tattoo blowout properly fixed.

The tattoo artist can add either some pictures or letters to hide the blowout. Sometimes, a number or few lines can also be drawn to fix the blowout. Many tattoo artists use different color ink to fix the tattoo blowout.

Another way can be by adding some background or thickening the design cleverly to conceal the blowout. Therefore, it is evident that only a tattoo artist can help you to fix the blowout. So stop using any kind of creams on it. If the blowout is very small, you can try dermabrasion to remove it, but it will not be very effective.

In many cases, the blowout fades away over time. By waiting for some time, your skin will also get healed up. Avoid the skin to be exposed to direct sunlight, as the tissues can become dark. This will further lead to irritation and the blowout will look worse than before. Moreover, you can apply sunscreen lotion on the scarred area or cover it with some cloth.

If you curl down your skin or stretch it, it can make the blowout extravagantly spoiled up. It is due to the reason that the ink will disperse to other layers of the skin. Unless the tattoo blowout has not completely healed up, do not try to make hasty twists.

Are You Sure That There Is A Blowout?

Don’t panic, after seeing your tattoo completed. It is because; the skin may sometimes swell up or appear reddish. Therefore, wait for some time for the skin to heal up rather than getting panic. If there is a blowout, it will appear straight away, else you may consider that it is normal for a tattoo to look like that.

A freshly made tattoo may look somewhat foggy or blurred, but it is often considered as a tattoo blowout. Moreover, it is a little complicated to inspect whether a blowout is there or not, as tattoo blowout can be in many forms. Many blowouts are observable while others are fragile.
